What Is Artful Spirit?

Artful Spirit is a venture by Sandy Morris.

Much of my work is influenced by the indigenous peoples of the Americas and Europe. I study the symbology of these peoples and incorporate these symbols with my own designs. These designs I paint onto my hand made drums and pottery. I also use symbolism to design jewelry from natural stone, silver and glass that represent properties that the wearer is desiring to achieve, such as healing or prosperity.

What's New?

After a particularly rough winter here in the Inland Northwest we have finally thawed out and most of the snow is gone, although Mother Nature is still playing April Fools!

I am getting back into the swing of things and planning on doing many shows this Spring and Summer including the Chewelah Earth Day Festival on April 26th, the Colville Swap Meet and Sale at the Northeast Washington Fairgrounds on May 3, Artists Loose on The Palouse in Valleyford, Wa on July 18 &19, and the Blue Waters Bluegrass Festival August 8, 9, &10 in Medical Lake Washington. I will also participate in the Northwest Renaissance Festival which will be held in Nine Mile Falls, WA during the five  weekends between June 21 and July 20, although I am still not sure which weekends I will be there. What I have been doing: 

• Displayed my art at the "Art at The Park" event at the Mirabeau Park Hotel in Spokane Valley which was hosted by the group Executive Women International as a fundraiser. There was wonderful food, entertainment, and lots of beautiful original art to be found there!
